Alison C. Leslie, Esq. offers compassionate personal attention through all aspects of your case. Alison attended Bucknell University, where she was a member of the Bucknell Scholars Program. She studied at Oxford University at St. Anne’s College during her junior year. After graduation, she attended and graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law.

Alison has only practiced family law. She clerked for the Honorable Stephen Schaeffer, JSC, a family law judge in Morris County. She then worked at two boutique law firms before opening her practice in 2005. Alison is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, the District of New Jersey (Federal Court), and the Supreme Court of the United States. She has been approved as a mediator in accordance with R. 1.40 by the State of New Jersey.

Alison is active with many legal associations, including the New Jersey State Bar Association, where she has been extremely active. Her involvement includes the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section, the Young Lawyer Subcommittee for the NJ State Bar Family Law Section (as Chair), the Solo-Small Firm Section of New Jersey State Bar (as the first women Chair), and the Membership Committee of State Bar (Chair for three years). She is also a member of the Family Law Section of the Morris and Essex County Bar Associations. She has also been a Barrister in the Barry Croland Inns of Court.

She has also published articles on legal issues, including reimbursement alimony, domestic violence, and working with experts and civil unions and domestic partnerships.

Alison is a frequent lecturer for her colleagues. She has lectured on child custody and parenting time, law practice management, alimony and spousal support, child support, and has been interviewed for several podcasts on these topics. She has lectured in Rome, Italy, St. Thomas, Walt Disney World, Arizona and in New Jersey.

A dynamic and energetic speaker, Alison is comfortable both inside the courtroom and around the settlement table. She is a tough negotiator who focuses on your goals and those of your family.

Alison is also a mother and step mother, who enjoys traveling with her family. When she is not balancing kid birthday parties on the weekends, her hobbies include mountain climbing and traveling.
