Timothy E. McCarthy, Esq.
Tim and Alison have been friends since 1998. They were in the same class in law school! Tim joined Leslie Law Firm, LLC., in 2011. He has been a litigator since his admission to the New Jersey Bar in 2002. Tim’s practice is devoted exclusively to family law and related matters, including divorce proceedings and dissolution of civil unions, post-divorce disputes, including modification of agreements and orders, child custody and parenting time related issues, and domestic violence disputes.
Tim earned his undergraduate degree from Fordham College and graduated from Seton Hall Law School Law School. Prior to the joining Leslie Law Firm, Tim practiced Immigration, employment and labor law. He also clerked for the Honorable Madeline Cox Arleo, U.S.D.J. (Newark) and the Honorable Wendel E. Daniels, P.J.Cr.P. (Ocean), where he learned family and criminal law. Tim has honored pro bono commitments by representing victims of domestic violence for Jersey Battered Women’s Services.
Tim lives in Hoboken, New Jersey. You will find him running with the Hoboken Harriers (HOHAs) by the city’s waterfront. He is also a member of New York Road Runners and his favorite race is the TCS New York City Marathon, which he trains for and runs every year.
As a committed distance runner, he understands the need to plan comprehensively, while positively overcoming any difficulties encountered, to maximize results. These same values inform his practice as a family lawyer. Tim works very hard with each client during one of the most emotionally difficult and financially challenging times in their lives, to positively meet his or her goals, during divorce or other family matters.
